Mahakali Dance

Religious Mahakali Dance festival is celebrated in Madhyapur Thimi in the next evening of Gaijatra. The dance is performed in Chapacho, Balkumari, Lokanthalee, Nagadesh of Thimi for four days. The dances of Maha-Kali, Maha-Laxmi, Kumari, Sinha, Byata, Ghost, Bhairab, Kwan, Khyak and Maka is performed while celebrating this festival. The dance was initiated in the time immemorial to escape the Ghost and Pisach from Thimi.

Krishna Temple: Krishna Asthami

Krishna temple temple is also called Chyasin Deval. This temple is attractive with 21 spires and Octagonal stone shape. The temple was built by king Vishnu Malla in 1723 and is one of the exquisite examples of stone work to be found in Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Krishna the eight incarnation of Vishnu. A major festival is held here in August / September, on the occasion of Krishna’s birthday, Krishna Asthami. The temple is situated in Lalitpur district, Nepal.

FAIR AT GOSAIKUNDA ON JANAIPURNIMA FESTIVAL

Gosaikunda is a large lake in Nepal at an altitude of 4,380 metres from sea level. This is the site of regular Hindu Pilgrimage. It is also a popular trekking route to Helambu. The best time to visit this lake is June.
